10/12/2001 Entry: "10/12 Afternoon"

Shawn and I went out last night to celebrate my 11 pound weight loss. I have decided I will go to my favorite restaurants and enjoy myself for every 10 pounds I loose. We had a nice time and I didn't overeat too much. In fact, I ate about half as much as I normally would, so that's good. After that we went to a bar and shot some darts and pool. It was a pretty late night so my butt is dragging today.

Shawn was supposed to have off today but he went into work for some overtime so I'm trying to get some housework done around here. The laundry pile is neverending it seems.

I'm still not in a creative mood so I haven't added anything to my site. I have so many pics that I'd like to make into graphic sets, but I am just not motivated to do so. This is the longest creative slump I've ever had.

Our remodeling project of our stairway is finally coming along nicely. We had originally painted the stairway and landing a country blue, which turned out way too dark and bright. So then we rag rolled a pearl glaze on top of it, and that didn't help at all. It seemed to make the blue even darker! Even with our double window at the top of the stairs, it was way too dark for my taste. Finally, we decided to paint the stairway an offwhite and leave the landing blue. We have separated the two colors at the top of the stairs with some trim that is attached to the half wall on the landing. I think this will look okay. They say the third time is a charm, right? Our carpet is a darker shade of the country blue, so the cream will be a nice contrast. Shawn and I had really wanted color all around as we are tired of our offwhite walls, but it just was too dark. I will take pics after everything is completed. Which reminds me I still need to take pics of our finished bathroom we completed. It's not decorated yet though so that's why I'm waiting. We'll get it done one of these days!

Congrats Leah, that is wonderful, I need some inspiration to try to lose some weight, I'm just way too lazy...Lynn keeps saying we need to start an exercise program..then we neither one do anything, that's the one problem with us, we are too much alike... :)

Woohoo!! A big congratulations to you Leah hun!!!!! And WAY TO GO on not pigging out at the celebration dinner! lol I hope your stairs end up looking great and that you are happy with them :) We really need to paint our living room and upstairs area sometime. Everything is white, and we have some really big vaulted ceilings so it makes it look even bigger and empty and blank! I am nervous though about picking the right color for the living room. There are so many colors I would love to have, but I'm scared that the paint would end up looking too funky and we'd waste a lot of mulah on the project. Have you found that it is very expensive?

Anyhoo, have a great Sunday Leah!! Ta-ta! ;)

Thanks Jenn! It wasn't expensive at all to paint our stairway and landing, though we do not have vaulted ceilings. I guess we originally paid about $17.00 for the one gallon of blue paint and then $17.00 for our glaze (which was a waste). We eneded up leaving the landing blue, but had to get another gallon of offwhite for $17 and only used half. So it was still fairly cheap even though we painted the one part 3 times LOL.

Hi Leah I was surprised you went ahead and change the blue walls. You said you were going to leave it blue. (oh I forgot that was a couple of days ago and you are a gemini) LOL It sounds like it's pretty the way you did it though. Congrats again on your weight loss. I am so proud of you. I wish I could say I am proud of myself too. :)

That doesn't sound too bad :) I'm glad you didn't have a hard time covering up the blue paint with the white!!
